Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) offers 100% fee waiver to the top scorers of VITEEE for the entire duration of B.Tech course. As per the information confirmed by the officials, the deemed university grant scholarship to the students under “GV School Development Program” (GVSDP). VIT University offers 75% tuition fee waiver to the top 1 to 50 rank holders in VITEEE for all four years of the course, whereas those who have been among the top 51 to 100 and 101 to 1000 will be given 50% and 25% tuition fee waiver for the four years of the course respectively.

VIT founder-chancellor, Dr G. Viswanathan informed that, “Two toppers, one boy and one girl, from any government school located in the rural areas of each district of Tamil Nadu who have also given VITEEE and have scored high marks are eligible to get 100% tuition fee waiver and free boarding and lodging in the hostels of VIT campuses under the STARS (Supporting the Advancement of Rural Students) scheme. “VIT university is working hard and giving its best to ensure that the top scorers from each district of Tamil Nadu who are from economically weak background get their due on time and complete the education without any problem”, he added.
VIT provides need-based financial assistance to its economically disadvantaged students so that they can complete their study without any financial crisis. GATE Toppers are given scholarships and the students who want to pursue their research work under the Semester Abroad Program (SAP) are also supported with the required financial assistance by the institute.
VIT conducts Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) to give admission to B.tech course. This computer-based test is conducted every year in the month of April-May. The examination is of 2 hours 30 minutes and is conducted in 3 sessions per day. VITEEE will have multiple choice questions and the question paper will have four sections Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology, English. Each section has 40 questions except English which has 5 questions and each question carry 1 mark. There is no negative marking in VITEEE.
