Vivo V11 Pro is a fantastic phone and this is what I had written in the full review of the phone back in last year. Recently, the V11 Pro received a massive price cut ahead of the Vivo V15 Pro. The phone now sells for Rs 23,990 in India. The V11 Pro was launched in the country with Android Oreo onboard, now the phone is reportedly receiving Google’s latest Android 9 Pie software.
Some Vivo V11 Pro users in India have reportedly already received the Pie update while others are expected to get soon. Vivo is said to be rolling out the Pie update in a phased manner. This means that if you are a V11 Pro user and still haven’t received the Pie update on your phone, well, you might need to wait for some more time. Possibly some days or weeks.
It is worth noting that the company hasn’t officially announced the Pie update for the V11 Pro. The company is reportedly testing the software with a limited number of units for now. We expect Vivo to push out the software update to all V11 Pro soon after the testing process is complete.
A Delhi based user of the V11 Pro received the Android 9 Pie update on the phone and posted a screenshot of the changelog. The user goes by the name Anmol Kumar. The screenshot reveals that the update measures 3.11GB in size, and brings a new look for the UI, an upgraded Shortcut Centre, among other things. The most interesting thing that the screenshot has revealed is the presence of a system-wide Dark Mode. Vivo is yet to reveal these details officially.
To recap the offerings of the V11 Pro. The phone comes with a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED display with 2340x1080p resolution, aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and screen to body ratio of 91.27 per cent. On the hardware front, the V11 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 artificial intelligence engine (AIE) processor paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage which can be expanded via a microSD card. The phone is backed by 3400mAh battery with dual engine fast charging support.
The V11 Pro includes dual pixel rear cameras with a primary sensor of 12MP paired with an aperture of f/1.8 and 1.28-micron pixels and secondary sensor of a 5MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture for portrait shots. On the front, the Vivo phone comes with a 25MP camera with an aperture of f/0.2.
